Peace With God

Romans 5:1
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: "

What Does Peace With God Mean?

Peace with God means you have been reconciled to Him. Your sins, which separated you from God, have been taken away, and you now stand before Him in perfect righteousness. The word is justification and according to Romans 5:1 we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ!

Justified By Faith

The heart of faith is to believe what God says and then act on it. If He says the atoning work of Christ completely removes our sins then we believe Him and we act on what He says. We must remember that all sins, for eternity, have been forgiven and we stand before God not guilty, for eternity! We have peace with God for we have our new identity in Christ, and we do not stand before God apart from the Person of Jesus Christ or apart from His redemptive work.

We are Justifed, Christ is the Justifier?

Justification is what Christ does to and for us. It is not a Church, a Denomination, a Sacrament, and not our sincerity. It is Christ Himself who justifies because we have believed Him. This is what the Lord asks, that we believe on Him as the only Son of God, that He rose from the dead, and that His death has made a full and complete atonement for our sins.

Whosoever Believeth on Him Shall not be Ashamed!

Rom 10:10-11
10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Notice in the above verse that our part is to believe. If we believe on Him then we will not be put to shame. In other words, if we believe on Him, then we will be justified from our sins. This is the good news of the Gospel. It is easy to over-complicate the Gospel for our natural minds want to do more. But God says, if you will believe, then I will finish the work.

The Scripture says that all who call on the Lord will be saved, Romans 10:13. The Lord is faithful and He will not turn from the person who calls upon Him recognizing they are in a lost and hopeless condition.

The atoning work of Christ removes our sins and the result of our forgiveness is justification which means we are made perfectly right with God! We have peace with God because we are made perfectly, 100%, right with Him.

He Who Glories, Let Him Glory in the Lord!

1Co 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31) That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Jesus is the One who makes us right with God. Remember, we have been MADE right with God. Rejoice that you have a Savior who is able and willing to make you right with God.

God bless you,

Jim

Scripture

Romans 5:7-11
7) For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--
8) but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9) Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
10) For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
11) More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Rom 4:2-5
2) For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.
3) For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness."
4) Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.
5) And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
