The Reality of Demons
Ephesians 6:11-12
11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Demons are real. They are spirit beings. They have names and are organized by levels of authority and power. Their mission is to resist and oppose the Word of God, the Name of Jesus Christ, and the message of the Cross.
Demons resist and oppose every preacher, every Church, and every born-again believer. They resist and oppose Angels, they oppose answers to prayer, they oppose the preaching and the understanding of the Gospel, and they make special effort to keep a Christian from crying out to God.
Demons immitate preachers, teachers, prophets, evangelists, and healers. They do miracles and masquerade as ministers of righteousness. They have the ability to possess the bodies of people and, if allowed, will bring the person to destruction. They can cause physical illness, mental illness, and emotional instability. They have the ability to make us think thoughts, feel feelings, and flood the mind with confusion.
Demons have the ability to make us feel intense emotional feelings, they can manipulate us sexually, emotionally and spiritually. By nature a demon confuses truth and where they exist there is confusion.
Demons are about sin, and their business is to promote and cause sin whenever and wherever they can. Demons are wicked, they are cruel, and, if allowed, will lead every person into hopeless depravity. Their future is the bottomless pit and they know it. They hate Jesus Christ, they hate the Father, they hate the Holy Spirit and the hate the Word of God. They have been defeated, their time is short and they have great wrath. They are to be recoginzed, resisted, and opposed at every turn.
