Forget Not All His Benefits

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:11

Forget Not All His benefits

Psa 103:2-6 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. The Lord has purchased for His People the right and privilege to receive His benefits. We are instructed specifically to not “forget” His benefits. We are reminded to take our needs to Him, that He is compassionate and merciful, and willing to bring wholeness to our lives.

A special word to those who are oppressed: The Lord names you and works righteous acts and justice for you, meaning, bring your oppression to Him and He will work on your behalf. The Lord is faithful; He will never leave you nor forsake you. There is no problem too big for Him and He will meet your every need. He is God and HE rules over all!

He Forgives All My Iniquities

Notice the word “all” when describing the benefits the Lord gives. All means any, all, every one, the whole. He forgives all my iniquities. Not just part of them, but all of them, and with forgiveness comes the restoration of our relationship.  The word iniquity refers to moral evil or perversity and He forgives all our evil and wicked behavior, every last bit.

You may think your sins are exceptionally evil and the Lord cannot simply forgive these kinds of sins. The Scripture tells us that even though our sins are scarlet they shall be white as snow. Forgiveness is profound, for all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are released from all their guilt. It is profound in that God Himself removes our guilt.

Forgiveness of all iniquity and every sin is a purchased benefit through our profession of faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Forgiveness is real and powerful for those who humbly believe on the Lord Jesus and He, through the work of the cross, forgives them, all their sins.

He does not owe us forgiveness, but He has chosen to redeem us from the power and guilt of our sins through His atoning blood. We are to remember that real forgiveness is a gift, a benefit given to us by God, through the work of Christ.

We are also to remember it is the Lord Himself who forgives. No Church, no doctrine, no sacrament, no human, no ritual, and no medication is able to release one from their guilt. No Church is good enough, no doctrine is right enough, and no sacrament is powerful enough to save us from our sins. The actual work of Salvation is reserved for the Lord Jesus Christ alone; Scripture tells us that God alone can forgive sins.

If you are in need of forgiveness then there is only One that can meet your need. Right now, right where you are, confess your sins to the Lord Jesus and ask for forgiveness and the removal of all guilt from your life. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thank you Lord Jesus!

Psa 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Psa 37:25-26 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

Psa 103:8-14 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 9) He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger forever. 10) He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11) For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12) As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13) Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14) For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

1Co 1:17-18 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18)For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
